Dura Grip E2 – Professional 2-Part Epoxy Anti-Slip Floor Coating

Dura Grip E2 works on concrete, tile, wood decking, metal including galvanised and stainless steel, resin floors, block paving, and existing epoxy floors. It is suitable for both interior and exterior use.

Yes. We recommend priming first with our Epoxy Primer as wood is porous and will absorb the coating unevenly without it. The wood must also be completely dry with no trapped moisture before application.

We would recommend Floor Grip instead. Parquet expands and contracts with humidity, and epoxy is rigid once cured, so it can crack or lift as the wood moves.

Not over water based latex products such as Tuff Grip Clear, as the epoxy will react with them. The existing coating would need to be fully removed first. Epoxy over existing epoxy is fine.

Priming is recommended on porous surfaces such as wood, concrete and block paving to ensure even coverage and better adhesion. On low porosity surfaces such as dense tile it is less critical, particularly if the surface has been etched first.

On tiles and polished surfaces we recommend etching with Stone Grip to open up the pores and improve bonding. It is a recommendation rather than a strict requirement, but it will extend the life of the coating.

Critical. Trapped moisture in the substrate is the most common cause of coating failure. Wood in particular can retain moisture deep in its fibres for weeks after the surface appears dry. We recommend using a moisture meter, aiming for a reading of 15 percent or below on wood.

A moisture meter is the most reliable method. Alternatively, tape a sheet of plastic or a paper towel to the surface for 24 hours and check for dampness underneath.

Yes, if you want a smooth uniform finish. Dura Grip E2 will not fill grout lines on its own.

Two coats. On surfaces with directional texture such as decking planks, apply the second coat at 90 degrees to the first to ensure full coverage in the grooves.

No. You can mix only what you need (4 to 1 ratio) for the job and store the remainder in a cool dry place for up to 5 years.

Dura Grip E2 achieves an average PTV of 60 to 80 in both wet and dry conditions.

R ratings are determined by ramp testing rather than pendulum testing. If your project requires certified R10 or R11 compliance we recommend having the treated surface independently tested once applied.

Around 2 years under normal conditions, potentially longer depending on traffic levels and maintenance.

When applied correctly to a properly prepared and dry surface, no. It will gradually wear down over time with foot traffic, which is normal for any surface coating.

It can be used, though for areas with regular forklift or heavy plant traffic we would recommend Ultra Grip for better longevity.

It performs well in wet environments including pool surrounds and changing rooms. Pooling water is fine provided it is cleaned up regularly rather than left to sit.

The coating provides a degree of surface protection during its lifespan but is not classified as a waterproofing product. A dedicated waterproofing membrane should be used where waterproofing is required.

Dura Grip E2 cures to a matte finish. On a polished or glossy surface this will dull the existing shine, so it is worth considering if maintaining a polished appearance matters.

Yes. Machines such as a Rotowash with soft bristles are fine, though daily mechanical cleaning may wear the coating down slightly faster than mopping.
