Deck Grip Outdoor & Indoor Anti-Slip Coating for Slippery Tiles

Frequently Bought Together:

SlipDoctors Deck Grip outdoor & indoor anti-slip coating is a non-yellowing, water-based acrylic sealer for tiles, concrete, and other natural stone surfaces. This durable and versatile non-slip coating is easy to apply and results in a clear, semi-gloss and barefoot-friendly finish. The key features of Deck Grip anti-slip coating are that it is UV, Chlorine and Chemical resistant making it perfect for areas that get a fair amount of sun and swimming pools.

All that said Deck Grip can also be used indoors and is perfect for sealed, stained, or stamped surfaces that tend to be slippery especially when wet. Deck Grip contains an anti-slip additive that gives the final coating a barefoot-friendly texture which helps to greatly increase the surface traction.

Types of Surfaces Deck Grip can be used on:

Sealed and unsealed tiles
Uncoated and coated concrete
Sealed and unsealed natural stone including but not limited to Travertine, Limestone, Quarry, Slate and Terrazzo

Deck Grip anti-slip coating also acts as a sealer allowing you to protect your surface and grout from water, stains, and scuff marks. Simply roll on the anti-slip coating and sealer with a paint roller and in 30-60 minutes the coating will be dry to touch and after 12 hours will be ready for foot traffic (24hrs for wheel traffic). Thanks to the advanced durability of Deck Grip the transparent anti-slip coating will last 2 years and is protected by our 2-year manufacturer’s warranty.

Surface Preparation:
Surface preparation varies by surface. Please see the next tab below for specific surface preparation instructions.
Application Instructions:
Step 1: Mixing Additive: The quantity of SlipDoctors Deck Grip Additive to be used depends on the level of slip resistance desired (see chart below). Maximum texture is recommended for the
most effective anti-slip protection. Pour desired amount of Additive into Deck Grip container
and gently mix to ensure even distribution. Avoid shaking to prevent foaming. Mix
occasionally during application.
  • Light Texture = 1/3 bottle of Additive to 3.8 Litre bottle of Deck Grip
  • Medium Texture = 2/3 bottle of Additive to 3.8 Litre bottle of Deck Grip
  • Maximum Texture (Recommended)= Entire bottle of Additive to 3.8 Litre bottle of Deck Grip
Step 2: TEST: Deck Grip should be tested on a small inconspicuous area before full application.
Step 3: Deck Grip can be rolled or sprayed, rolling is recommended. Roll: Use a paint roller to evenly coat the surface. Avoid puddling in low areas. If puddles occur, roll them out. Two thin coats are recommended rather than one thick coat.
Step 4: For added protection, greater performance and durability, we recommend applying Deck Grip in two thin coats. Allow first coat to dry for 2-4 hours before applying the second coat. The second coat should be applied at a right angle to the first coat.
Step 5: Clean-up: While Deck Grip is still wet, equipment may be cleaned with soap and water. Once dried, equipment may be cleaned with a solvent, such as xylene or toluene.

All Surfaces
All substrates must be clean, dry and free of dust, dirt, oil, grease, soil, soap residue, wax, flaking paint and other soluble contaminants. Do not use alcohol-based cleaners.
Lightly sand fibreglass with 220 grit sandpaper to promote adhesion. Clean surface with pH-neutral cleaner or acetone. Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry before application.
Painted Surfaces
Deck Grip cannot be applied over painted surfaces. All paint must be removed before application. Please see Dura Grip Anti-Slip Floor Paint to recoat the surface in an non-slip coating.
Sealed Surfaces
Chipped or flaking surfaces should be sanded or scuffed to a sound surface. If sealed surface is
sound, lightly sand with 220 grit sandpaper to promote adhesion. Scrub and clean surface with
pH-neutral cleaner. Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry before application.
Uncoated Concrete & Stone
New concrete should be allowed to cure for 30 days before application of any coating. If there
is any doubt about the dryness of the concrete, conduct a test by simply placing a weighted
rubber mat, plastic sheet or other nonporous material on the surface for 24 hours. Check the
underside of the mat and concrete for signs of moisture. The concrete will be darker if damp. If
moisture is found, allow additional dry time (10-14 days) and repeat test. If moisture persists,
the concrete surface cannot be coated.
Unsealed Tiles & Natural Stone
Clean surface using pH-neutral cleaner or power-wash, rinse and allow to dry thoroughly before
application. For best adhesion surface can be lightly sanding with 220 grit sand paper or etched
using SlipDoctors Stone Grip.
Wood & Composite Wood
Deck Grip cannot be applied to wood or composite wood. Please see Floor Grip Anti-Slip for Wood, Vinyl & Lino

For general cleaning and maintenance, use a light pressure rinsing. For best results to remove
oily deposits or other foreign matter, apply pH-neutral cleaner at recommended dilution rate
and scrub lightly with a soft bristle deck brush. Do not use alcohol-based cleaners,
